The Evil Alien Carrot Is Taking Shape
- On June 18, 2019
Well The Evil Alien Carrot is starting to take shape. We have the story proofread and typed up. Some small errors but, can any of us spell correctly without the use of spell check? Well, Lola Grace has done it with just a pencil and rubber. Leaves me standing.
We now have the core of the book. Lola and I have agreed on the presentation and style plus colours of the Evil Alien carrot. It should be interesting – the female side of her is favouring pink as the core base colour. A bit tricky to contemplate the colour against the word ‘evil’. But it will be done.
Dexter is getting a bit anxious that he is a bit slow with his first submission for his book. He doesn’t have a title as yet, and there is far more colouring with his book. He has used blue as the core base colour.
Both are obviously wanting to know when it will be ready and when it can go on Amazon. I think the dollar signs are ringing in their eyes.
Luana, who is really the project manager on this, is surprised how good Lola’s imagination is. Some wonderful but very sweet little descriptions of her characters. Luana has had some good feedback from her friends and is pretty confident we will have something that Lola can be proud of.
I have touched on Amazon – they have been informed of what we are trying to accomplish and are behind us all the way. They feel it will be good for their staff to see how what they do day to day, affects people’s lives so much.
When Luana gave me Lola’s text all typed up and ready for her approval, I thought I would show her and she would just say ‘Yeah, that’s okay.’
I phoned her Dad last night and he told me that Lola had been proof-reading the text all night and she has pulled us up on a couple of things.
Well I will find out tonight where we have slipped up. Hopefully we will be able to manage it, otherwise we may have to lie and cover it up some other way. Or, we may have to get a spell check pencil and rubber.
Now it’s all up to Dexter to produce the goods. We are building a dedicated website for them to display their books. I will also utilise this to start with introducing my books about the pigs. Mangalitsa Magic.
We need to keep Ayla, Caleb and Ko-ey in the loop as their ideas develop.
Personally, and it’s a bit selfish, but I am finding this extremely rewarding and most of all fun. I think Luana is finding that she has the same feelings. It’s quite a bit of admin but it feels very worthwhile.
