My Two Sisters – Two Big Surprises and a Staggering Response
- On February 26, 2021
I wrote the introduction book mainly for my immediate family and close friends. The reasoning behind this was to try and overcome that awkward moment when I tell people that, by the way, I communicate with my twin sister who died during our childbirth and I only recently found out that I have an older sister. A bit of a conversation stopper in anyone’s company.
The big surprise for me, well actually there were two, was the fact that so many people outside the family and friends wanted to read it. This then had the knock-on effect of raising the importance of reading Hallucinations or Reality which was the precursor to My Two Sisters.
Demand was staggering
In all honesty the demand for My Two Sisters was staggering. I had anticipated that I would have a print run of one hundred copies. Absolutely way off the mark. The book went live in China, Canada, the United States, Russia and most European countries and this was despite the fact that we launched the book at the most stupid time of the year, December 17th, 2020, when every Tom Dick and Harry had used lock down and launched their books in October, evidently the critical time for Christmas sales.
I think that this clearly showed what on earth do I know about book publishing, printing, logistics and PR. Still learning at my time of life, but not too proud to admit that I was floundering and left it to the experts.
Now up to me to hit the deadlines
They have done a great job and now it’s up to me to make sure I hit all the deadlines they have set me for the first book in the trilogy. I will not bore you with all the dates etc but the publication is due to go live on March 1st – St David’s Day – 2022.
Sounds a long way off, but my recent operation has delayed the final draft plus the feedback I have had from family and friends from the introduction book has forced me to scrap 25,000 words of content. Little pieces of my information jigsaw have been slotted into place from the family and another large piece of information has nearly completed the entire puzzle.
A lot of people knock social media but for me it has proven a huge benefit.
A huge thanks to everyone who has emailed me, called me or sent over links to various information sources that have proven to be a gold mine for this research.
